stationary

I am considering some stationary paper, obviously one that sticks out seems to be                handmade paper used in my stationary.

Next Steps

So basically didn't bring my illustrator files to class today, just jpegs........so now I can't do much work.  However the designs I have now need to be either simplified or moved around a little more.  Need to take my iconic design and make is seem a little more intentional, it seems to be in the middle of clean and messy.  Also need to play around with fonts more, dunno what to use but Stan suggests some kind of san serif.  Gotta keep plugging away with different variations.

new designs for bird logo

These logos are new designs trying to combine the bird glyph with the script font and trying to have better placement for my font among the icon in the logo.  Still coming up with many more variations and I will keep posting them.

Script with feather

This logo is one I am pretty happy with how it is developing.  I intend to take the feather in another direction, and possibly lose the swirl and swoosh.

Wolf Skin logo

This logo is probably not going to make it as my company logo,
but I feel it could really have great design value for later projects with the company.

Old Work

These are a few of my old pieces.
I have more but I need to fix my upload problems for blogger.

Trying

Ive been trying all day to upload my sketches to blogger and I'm giving up now, but I will have designs ready for Monday in class.

Sorry Stan

Coyote Trading Company

Ok so this is a little late, but I ended up choosing Coyote Trading Company for my redesign.

As far as an artist statement goes.  I intend to take the company in a better direction with their design that seems to be just western lettering.  I see a great value in the Native American culture the store provides, they sell leather goods and jewelery done by Native American artists groups.  From what I understand the store is not affiliated with any specific Native American nation,  however they are associated with a national Native American artist group which will help.

Designing a logo and product for a Native American trading company is very exciting.  I want to keep a natural design that fits the mood and product of the store that people find so interesting, but at the same time bring more modern design value to attract new people to see this great store.  Keeping a balance between cultural values and design can be tricky but I think it will bring a lot out of my skill as a designer and I look forward to all our projects.

Hopefully the end result will be a design that can be easily linked to the store and attract new comers to experience this beautiful culture and all their store provides.

Let me Know what you think of all this

Thanks,
Sean
